About Us

"Then Jesus took the children in His arms & blessed them by placing His hands on them." -Mark 10:16

HISTORY

Kingwood Assembly of God Church actually began in 1929. During the 1940’s, the church moved to the center of Alabaster and by the 1970’s, the church had grown to the point of having to purchase more property. That is when the church moved to the Royalty Drive address, that housed K-5 through 12th grade. In 1979, Kingwood Christian School was birthed, with a small daycare for families and staff.

In the early 1990’s, the church purchased 25 acres of land on Industrial Road. From this purchase, Kingwood Christian Child Development Center was born. In 1999, the new church sanctuary and an additional nine daycare classrooms, as well as the Children’s Chapel were constructed. We are blessed with a rich heritage and an exciting future!

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of Kingwood Christian Child Development Center is to provide a Christ-centered environment where children are encouraged to achieve spiritual and academic excellence.

PHILOSOPHY

Kingwood Christian Child Development Center’s philosophy is to place foremost in the minds and hearts of the children, parents and staff, God’s perspective. Parents and teachers work cooperatively for the children’s benefit. Education for the whole child (spirit, soul and body) finds its center in the classroom with a strong, academic program for all ages in addition to incorporating a Biblical world view.

Teaching and learning are continuous! It is the intent of Kingwood Christian Child Development Center to foster an environment that is conducive to learning, loving and growing. This environment will be one that fosters curiosity, respect for authority and others, obedience, mercy and Godly character. We believe these goals can be achieved with everyone working in harmony.
