Curriculum
"Train up a child in the way he should go, & when he is old he will not depart from it." -Proverbs 22:6
Nursery 1
Bible stories and songs will be presented to all children as a part of their normal routine. Sign language will begin in Nursery 1 to assist our youngest children with communication as they grow and develop.
KCCDC feels strongly that children learn best through play. We support a “play-based” approach to learning in all ages and stages of development.
Nursery 2
Children will learn basic sign language and begin recognizing shapes, and colors. Stroller time, music/song play and flash cards are a part of their daily curriculum.

Beginning with our three-year-old department, the Heggerty Phonological Awareness Curriculum will be introduced in a “circle” time setting. Children will learn phonics in a fun and relaxed way. This program will assist teachers as they introduce children to the sounds that letters make in preparation for learning to read.
